Eclipse Phase Modifier Cards and Firewall Sample Character Tiles available!

We're excited to release the Eclipse Phase Modifier Cards, a 53-card set designed to make your Eclipse Phase games play faster at the table! The Modifier Cards start with Aptitude Modifiers, and move on to cards for Mesh, Morph Acclimation, Wound, and Trauma modifiers. Plus cards for tracking Speed, and blank cards you can customize at the table!

The Eclipse Phase Modifier Cards are available via DriveThruRPG's Print on Demand service, and cost $11.99!

The aptitude modifier cards are where this deck really shines, so let us take a moment to explain exactly how they work best.

First, you use this fantastic Morphless Character Sheet to keep track of your character. This sheet is specifically designed to work with our Morph Recognition Cards, so you can simply pull the card appropriate to your current morph and place it in the square provided. This allows you to see what implants, advantages, etc the morph provides. Alternatively, if you don't have a morph deck, you can fill in the important details in the space provided, or just keep that page bookmarked in the appropriate book.

Each morph has its own set of aptitude modifers, so pull the appropriate aptitude modifier cards and keep them in front of you. You'll note that the skills on the Morphless Character Sheet are color-coded to the linked aptitude, making it easy to find which of the aptitude modifier cards in front of you should be applied to any given test.

If you resleeve into a new morph, simply pull the new set of aptitude modifier cards and replace the ones in front of you. This allows you to easily keep track of the morph's effect on your skills without recalculating all of the skills on your character sheet.

Ok, I love everything about the new character sheet except.....

I'm not seeing a real place to write down specializations past the skill but before the base. Maybe a sample filled out one?

That was my intent, that players scribble it in the nearest white space, depending on what other nearby skills they have filled out.

Honestly, what _I_ would do with the character sheet is far less important than seeing what other people do with it! I expect the Morphless sheet will evolve over time. to help with that, show us your character sheets _in play_!

Can we get one in A4 format?

Can we get a version of the character sheet in A4 format? :)

I'm not totally convinced

I'm not totally convinced that I should buy this product. Can you provide more pictures of the modifier cards? You've shown the aptitude cards, but can you also show some of the other cards as well? Hopefully, more pictures will be useful to understand why these cards will help me to run the game faster?

And finally, what are the status for the Quick Reference Sheets that we were promised, are these cards the planed reference sheets or can we expect them later?

This is fantastic! I noticed however that the kinesics skill is missing from the morphless character sheet.

Here it is: http://eclipsephase.com/downloads/EclipsePhase_Morphless_Charactersheet_v1_A4.pdf

(I can't promise that this version will get updated every single time the letter Morphless sheet gets updated -- it's just a quick and dirty hack.)

Most of the other modifier cards look similar to the Mesh Modifier card pictured.

I'll work on some filled-out sheet+card pictures to demonstrate how they would look during play.

These cards are absolutely not the Quick Reference Sheets, which are still in the works -- Jack is working 100% on the Fate Conversion Guide until that enters the second playtest, and then he'll take some time for other backlogged projects.

They are, however, somewhat _derived_ from the Quick Reference Sheets, in that starting the sheets gave us a bunch of other ideas on how to speed up game play and make it more accessible.

Hmm? Interestingly enough, something got me thinking about how I didn't like how the skills were organized alphabetically. It really lacks context. If you were running from a TITAN monster, and you had several means of escape (each requiring a different skill), do you really want to look through the whole list of skills to figure out what your best skills were?

As such, I opted to organize skills by use. I now have lists for combat skills, social skills, mobility skills, etc. I also further sub group them. For instance, mobility has the movement group and (for a lack of a better name) complex skills. So the movement sub group has climb, flight, free fall, freerunning, and swimming. Any skill for personally moving around. Complex has navigation and the pilot skills. Those skills I think would require a bit more thought about what you do. For combat, I keep fray at the top of the list of combat skill since while you have many skills for attacking, fray tends to be the go to skill for dodging. As such, I don't think you should be looking for the fray skill.

After some thought, much of it along the lines of making a character sheet, I am considering keeping the aptitude bonuses from morphs separate from the skills in a row at the top of the sheet. Keeping them side by side for every skill will lead to a whole lot of erasing when you need to update the character sheet. Getting a new character sheet might be an option, but I don't think it is an obvious answer for everyone. There would be some space will be given for field skills, but otherwise I plan to leave a bunch of blank space for writing down some quick notes.

It seems that there is now a second page that looks incomplete.

I'd love the skills sorted by aptitude

I'm with DivineWrath; the character sheet would be much easier to use if the skills were sorted by the related aptitude, so that all the skills that get a morph bonus (or penalty) are obviously grouped together. I did pick up multiple sets of morph cards and modifier cards anyways :)

I also wish there was enough space to show stats for 2x melee / ranged weapons; there's a lot of space devoted to "armor" that seems unnecessary since you only need to write 2 numbers. Those boxes could probably be moved next to damage & stress, and then there'd be room for 1-2 more weapons.

A tiny nit-pick: I wish the rep scores were capitalized to match the rulebook ("g-rep" instead of "G-Rep", etc.)

When did I say that? I wasn't suggesting to group skills by aptitudes, I suggested to keep the list of aptitude bonuses near the top so you didn't need to recalc the numbers on the sheet. I otherwise group the skills by use, like keeping all combat skills in one spot.

Ah gotcha -- I misunderstood

Ah gotcha -- I misunderstood or misread, then.

Anyways, after being gung-ho about wanting to try the new character sheet for today's session (Ego Hunter), I decided not to, mostly because Achjima had too many specialty skills (Medicine: XXX, Networking: XXX, etc) that exceeded the number of slots on the sheets. Rather than confusing my new players with stuff that was scribbled out, was easiest to just give them the normal sheets printed in the scenario. Next time, maybe :)

We've been using the morphless sheets for a while in our game and they've been a big hit. The only complaint is that the color coding can be a little tricky when scanning; as others have said, sorting by Aptitude and then skill name would be a big improvement...

We've updated the Morphless

We've updated the Morphless character sheets a little bit, and at your request, added a version that sorts skills by Aptitude and then alphabetically!

Feedback to the Eclipse Phase

Feedback to the Eclipse Phase morphless character sheet

I really like the morphless character sheet, and I think it is the best sheet available at the moment. However, I do have some suggestions for improvement:

Character: I would be nice to have a place to note character concept.

Skills: I suggest a better linking of the aptitudes and the related skills that are not so strongly related to color, e.g. by a COG heading in the skill list, or using the aptitude pictogram, or maybe organize the skills in the same order as the aptitudes. And as some have pointed out previously, we need a place to write skill specializations for the knowledge skills.

Armor: There are devoted to much space for noting armor. I suggest that armor should be noted in the same format as weapons - i.e. type of armor and then the kinetic and energy armor.

Gear/implants: It would be nice to have more space to write gear and implants, ideally a vertical column would be best.

Morph: To much space are devoted for the aptitude bonus, which could be better by flipping table horizontally, which will also give more space to writing traits, adv and dis beneath.
Durability and wound threshold below morph are unnecessary as this information are noted elsewhere on the sheet.

Sleights: I believe that most players don't play an async. By removing the sleights heading we'll have more space for traits.

Muse: It would be nice to have a place to note muse concept.
