Eclipse Phase 2nd edition errata

Compiled errata from the second edition pdf.
UPDATED with version Aug 31 2019)

In the metadata outline of the PDF (i.e. not the one on actual pages but the one that shows up as a sidebar in your PDF reader), Zahiri is listed as being on page 88 instead of page 89 as they should be.

p.68: Also, this is more of a nitpick, but the Standard Vacsuit (page 341) already includes an Autocook, making the inclusion of an Autocook in the Gatecrasher gear pack (page 68) somewhat redundant. Maybe gatecrashers could get a different minor complexity item instead?

p. 75: The Quickness trait on p. 75 is in the wrong place. It should be before the 'r's. Right now its in the middle of the 'r's instead of being listed in alphabetical order. ('r's traits are both above and below it right now).

p. 77, 80: I noticed that the table on 77 shows timidity having only 2 levels. However, on page 80, the trait says it has 3 levels.

p. 81: (face) // (Face)

p. 93: Standard Vacsuits also include Specs (page 317), making the purchase of Enhanced Vision for Whisper (page 93) somewhat redundant as well.

p. 100: bcame // became

p. 149 - Gatecrashing Law
"sponsoring entity, enabling inestigations and prosecution of crimes"
Should be "investigations" but really more grammatically correct would be "investigation and prosecution".

p. 154 - The Four-Point Plan
"Though you gives lip service [...]"
Not sure what this should be. "Though it gives lip service"? It's talking about TPC and the four-point plan so 'you' isn't appropriate really.

p. 158: abandone by // abandoned by

p. 183: encaves // enclaves

p. 184: mirro // mirror

p. 191, in Commonwealth Hub
"The Hub floats in geosynchronous orbit over Nyhavn. It is TITAN's primary spaceport..."
Should be "Titan" like the moon, not "TITAN" like the villainous ASI.

p. 317: Finally, the Direction Sense Ego Trait (page 73) and the Direction Sense Ware (page 318) have the same name but provide very slightly different benefits, which seems unnecessarily confusing. Given that they're so similar, I would probably just make the Trait version of Direction Sense available as a Morph Trait as well and get rid of the Ware version, but renaming one of them is also an option.

p. 324: Oxygen Reserve duration
The text on page 324 says it lasts for 4 hours, the table says 3 hours.

p. 332: Modified Behavior: Violent / should be "Enhanced Behavior: Violent".

p. 336: "Satnet-in-a-can" has a description entry in the prose part of the page but not in the table at the bottom (so there's no listed cost anywhere).

p. 349 - "Robomule" paragraph has a leading stray backtick (`)

Some more errata

p. 13 In the Opportunity section, in the 7th paragraph, "head's up" should be "heads up" (it's plural, rather than possessive).

p. 14 In the last paragraph of the first column "we keep on eye on" should be "we keep an eye on".

p. 88 Njal's Vigor pool is 1, but the Agent morph should no longer be providing this.

p. 145 In the A Day in the Outer System section, in the 0030 item, "egcast" should be "egocast".

p. 323 at the end of the Weapon Mount description, "can only mounted in" should be "can only be mounted in".

p. 331 There's no entry for Brutalitea (which is in the table). I'm not sure a +DUR drug really makes sense either.

p. 339 In the table entry for Psi Jammer, "James brainwave" should be "Jams brainwave".

I think they are not, both seem female to me, and the facial markings are a staple of the Ghost morphs (plus I'd swear the image for the Ghost was used somewhere in the 1st ed books)

Yes, page 153 of EP-1 4th printing.

For some reason I associate this look (kind of sporty) to combat, while the one on EP-2 page 57 looks more skinny and ready to stealth.

I guess it's about what was the exact intentions of the authors.

I think it's the look of the Fury that is misleading me. To me Fury is kind of inspired from GUNNM/BattleAngelAlita and GITS's Kusanagi (among other things). The character in this one seems more like a detective a la Bladerunner to me, so I felt it was wrong, but your point on the body marks is right.

Threshold that the damage exceeds. For example, against Wound
Threshold 7, 1 wound is inflicted for every 7 points of damage

If the damage has to be "more than", not just equal to, the wound threshold, shouldn't this be 8 damage inflicts 1 wound and 15 damage inflicts 2 wounds? The "Combat Summary" sidebar contradicts, saying "If the damage equals or exceeds the target’s Wound Threshold, a wound is scored"

p. 66 Flexbots. Some common shape adjustments include utilitools and utilimods. It seems kinda redundant for Flexbots to shape tools that in turn can shape into other tools.

Edit: I suppose its not that bad. Players can choose to avoid shaping such tools if they are not good picks.

p. 71 Fixer Swarm. It says it repairs damage for 4 days, but the source on p. 345 has no mention of a time limit or finite duration.

p. 73 Composure and p. 78 Instability. They feel uneven. Composure has only 1 level while Instability has 2. I would feel better if these 2 opposites had the same number of levels (I prefer 2 levels for both).

A utilitool/utilimod can change to the desired tool in 1d6 minutes. Depending on GM rulings, it may take up to 1d6 hours for Shape Adjusting to change between different tools. I think a good GM would still let you switch between tool kits in 1d6 minutes with Shape Adjusting (since these are similar enough that a utilitool can switch), but there is some mechanical justification.

The fixer swarm's 4 day duration comes from page 344 where it talks about nanoswarm attrition. Without a hive, swarms will run out of DUR in 4 days. This is long enough to fully heal an object with 3 wounds (first day heals DUR, the next 3 heal wounds).

I see. I haven't got that far into the book yet. I'm content with making characters for the moment.

I see that the Crafter module has hives. For a moment I was worried. I remembered reading swarms, not hives.

Fixer, spy, and taggant swarms are unclear if micro or nano swarms (relevant for movement and possibly guardian swarms, see below)

Guardian swarms state

Quote:
Guardians watch for and attack other unauthorized swarms. These mites neutralize other nanobots by physically latching on to them, effectively disabling both.

implying that they are nanoswarms (other nanobots), but that same language also implies they are ineffective against microswarms, which I'm not sure is intended.

Nice to have fixes.

Nice to have fixes.

Muses now has Medicine: Psychosurgery 30. Unfortunately they lost an assignable know skill. I think they should have kept both know skills, otherwise there isn't much you can do to customize muses and make them special.

My request to change composure to have 2 levels didn't make it. :(

I noticed that the table on 77 shows timidity having only 2 levels. However, on page 80, the trait says it has 3 levels.

Robomule still has an '`' char in front of its name. See "`Robomule" in the descriptions on p. 349.
