Transhuman Kickstarter!

Probably should start a thread for this on the forums! The blog post about our Kickstarter for Transhuman is here: http://eclipsephase.com/transhuman-kickstarter-launches

And the Kickstarter itself is here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/507486226/transhuman-the-eclipse-phase-players-guide

I'm tapped out on RPG money for the rest of the year :D I didn't buy a copy of Rimward, and I was comp'd for Gatecrashing and Panopticon. I think I still come out fairly well in regards to my entertainment earned vs. money spent Eclipse Phase wise.

Well, that didn't take long. Funded! Onwards to stretch goals. Guess I better start working out what morph suggestion I wanna throw at them...

Congratulations!

Well done guys - pretty awesome stuff to get the Kickstarter funded so quickly. Very much looking forward to seeing how many stretch goals we can hit... :-)

I would upgrade to 'Social Engineer' in a heartbeat. Or a clock cycle. Or whatever it is that Factors have...

Yeah, I'd have been absolutely thrilled to have the official art. I still put my backing in already for the $60 tier and I'm thinking about bumping it up to a higher tier; we'll see what happens.

We'll be opening up more slots in some of those pledge levels sometime over the next couple of days, and we will announce the time they will be opened up in advance, so if you are interested in the levels such as Social Engineer, Promethean, or Ultimate Fabber, please back the project now for at least $1 -- that way, you will get our updates about new pledge level availability as soon as we post the news!

You may still have your chance at getting into the official art of Eclipse Phase! Would be really cool if they did a spread page group shot type thing, with different characters all lined up in action poses. Especially if they included people who also pledged at higher amounts, perhaps the Ultimate Fabber level *cough*

If the Kickstarter would

If the Kickstarter would reach much higher funding, would it be possible to get more art by some interesting artists? For example maybe Brom with one or two illustrations, or maybe a comic panel illustration from Dresden Codak(but I am honest to admit that I don't know much about the costs for such a thing)?
Just thinking about stretch goals...
I contributed at Brinker level-couldn't wait :P :P Since I don't need the physical book yet and cost of delivery to EU is too great, I will wait if there are any interesting pledge awards later and might contribute more later.

PS:And I really hope that this kickstarter will eventually lead to X-threats sourcebook kickstarter one day :D

8 more characters unlocked. Any hints on more stretch goals?

Working on an update! :)

Working on an update! :)

And just a head-ups, we added a $10 backer level for people new to Eclipse Phase -- it contains the core rulebook PDF and PDF/ePub versions of four pieces of fiction. So if you want to promote the Transhuman Kickstarter to sci-fi fans who aren't necessarily gamers or gamers who haven't read/played EP before, there's a natural pledge level to point them to!

We have had several requests for this, and we'll be talking it over in the near future. If we allow PayPal backing, we'll announce it loudly, of course. :)

Interesting that people seem

Interesting that people seem willing to pay more when they're helping to fund than when buying the finished product. Participation and helping out really is its own reward to the extent we even want to pay for it!

I also think it is great that you're creating extra value by letting high level backers influence the game. It is fun for them, and the more money an EP product can generate the more products we'll see and the greater they'll be (I can't help but notice how most stretch goals involve money for artists and freelancers).

I understand you might not want to disclose too many economic details, but how is the kickstarter going compared to your initial projections and your other books? Is this a business model that could let you release books more often?

I'd say that all of them do, indirectly or directly: because almost every goal involves more Eclipse Phase stuff being made, and people get paid for that. :-)

I think it's too soon to talk about the overall impact on our business model. It's very promising, and we have great stuff to come in ways of backer rewards and stretch goals, but it's hard to compare it to a traditional book release because it's just so different -- and of course, we won't know for months how it effects other things (such as our sales figures at Gen Con, the initial sales of Transhuman through distribution, etc.)

Dropped a good 130 dollars on the book (shipping is more expensive than I thought!) and happy to do so. Posthuman Studios don't just make works that I love, they are also great examples of a modern, transparent company that embraces new aspects of the society we live in, and I'm proud to support that!

More Stretch Goals

Here are some new ideas for new stretch goals:

Quote:

-Full length Octojean Veinous novella "KILL WARD-9: AN OCTOJEAN VEINOUS ADVENTURE".
-New Shanghai folding map.
-Morph colouring book.
-Double New Shanghai-Extropia folding map.
-Transhuman: ¡the pop-up book!
-30% freelancer raise.
-Relativistic Travel Time Between Solar System Habitats App.
-Eclipse Phase introductory video, narrated by Cristopher Lee.
-"KILL WARD-9: PART DEUX: HOT HOT VENGEANCE"
-Eclipse Phase TV commercial, with Morgan Freeman.
-Mapping the Future: maps of all EP, Sunward and Rimward habitats.
-"KILL WARD-9: THE MOVIE" With Morgan Freeman as Octojean Veinous.

I´m just joking (mostly), but a solar system/mars folding map would be really cool, also aditional freelancer love, and the App thing.

I'm surprised that only one

I'm surprised that only one person has signed up for The-Worst-Gaming-Session-Ever pledge so far.

Consider this. It contains the Ultimate pledge (60 Dollars) And participation in a game that can be enjoyed by 3 or 4 people. If one person pays to keep the book to himself, that'd make the game session cost 190 dollars. If you conspired to split that with some friends it'd be $47.50 for each of the 4 players (though the guy who keeps the hardcopy of the book would pay $107.50)

A Sourcebook for the Argonauts?! FINALLY! :D
And a Campaign for the TQZ?
A chance to try out that TITAN Buster from the Transhuman Morph Section. :3

I love you guys! >3
If things keep going as their going you'll hit 55,000 in only a few days.
What will the next set of Stretch Goals be after this? Sourcebooks for the major Hypercorps? Direct Action? Cognite? Solaris? Stellar Intelligence? Experia?

Or maybe a Gear/Weapons/Vehicle book like Arsenal from the SR line? Or maybe an expanded book chock full with Augmentations? o.o

Adam gets to layout Jack's adventure! I'm so glad we get a new adventure I'm particularly goofy for this one! Got my fingers crossed for new TITAN monsters! hopefully a little art for them? The game has gotten a little light on the Horror Art lately.

Adam, are you starting to feel a bit whelmed with the amount of work this "1 book" ;) has created for you or do you pretty much have it all plug-n-play in Indesign?

Mea Culpa: My mode of speech can make others feel uninvited to argue or participate. This is the EXACT opposite of what I intend when I post.

You shouldn't need an American credit card; as long as your Amazon account recognizes your credit card, you should be able to pledge.

I know that most of my posts

I know that most of my posts in this topic have been similar, but;

There is another $300 Promethean backer spot open. Seems like someone dropped it again. As a Promethean you get to suggest a character to be used as one of the example character creation characters, as well as the rewards you would get from the Ultimate level of funding.

Remember that Kickstarter does not charge your card until the project is fully funded (May 22nd), and you technically have a week after that before your pledge is dropped entirely (don't do that though). So if you don't have the money now, but know for sure that you will by the 22nd, you could still pledge at the $300 level now.

Donations and preferences

Good afternoon!

What is the proper forum to indicate delivery preferences for a Kickstarter funding level, and is there any flexibility on how one's name appears on the credits? I've contributed, I'd like to pick things up at GenCon if possible, and would prefer to have a much less formal name than the one attached to more official documentation credited?

Thank you very much for your time!
